Merry Christmas to you all!

Hi guys,

wish you all a merry christmas and happy holidays! finally it's going a bit better on the poker tables, I still get some annoying crazy suckouts but still.. it's going up, and that's the direction we ought to be going right? ;) I'm back a grinding NL400 on iPoker and it's going ok, nothing special. Played some really bad hands today though, and got a terrible suckout that I'm gonna post ofcourse :) Don't know how I could have played it differently, the guy is such a luckbox, even flatcalled my 3-bet with ATs.. come on, you gotta feel lucky if you do that :p

Tonight, I'm going to have christmas dinner with my friends, and on the 26th of December it will be my birthday so, I'm gonna spend time with my girlfriend only on that day, eventhough she has exams, so I'm pretty happy that she still makes some time for me :$ I told her to just celebrate it after her exams, but she said it was ok. Still need to buy some christmas gifts though ;) so I'm gonna be shopping later on today as well. I'm so bad at this gifts stuff.. but oh well, I guess it's the thought that counts right? ;)

and we're back

Yo guys,

almost back to normal :) and I've been back grinding the tables pretty much. Had some sick beats the last couple of day, but so far we're not down, so that's pretty good right? ;) Since I'm not up to par yet I've been warming up on NL200 a bit, just to grind it out and it's going pretty smoothly, did a session together with Ricky, first we did 12 tables, but that was too much for me, then we switched over to 8, which was so much better, went up 1.6K$ in about 5 hours of play.. I was tired like hell though ^_^

Funny thing was before we went to carrefour and we tried to get a chair delivered at Ricky's place, but nobody seemed to understand english and said no delivery (whilst their a huge sign saying free home delivery if place is within 5km range and the product is over 2500 baht), but after like 7 people we managed to get it delivered anyways, Ricky was worried it would never get there, but it did after like 4 hours, so everything is all good. He's in Cambodia now doing a visa run, so I think he's having a lot of fun over there ;)

Afterwards dropped by at Jappe's & cookies place to see cookie win 2K$ in 5 minutes, made me feel sad to grind 5 hours to not even match his performance :p but anyhow.. I managed to rape everyone in Soul Calibur 2 (or 3 dunno which version, coz I never played it before).

yesterday had a normal session on NL1000, and I was grinding it up until some shortstack donks started to annoy me, but I ended up 1K$.

ending this post with this lovely hand:

Sick!

Hi guys..

still not completely over with my food poisoning, don't know what's wrong with my stomach but I have to run to the bathroom every once a while and I can't keep in any food. Good thing I feel a lot better now though, the dizzyness and headaches are a lot less now since I'm taking medication. Since I'm M.I.A. on the pokerfield, I have not let time go by without waste and left my computer do 24/7 datamining on some pokersites to look for some loopholes ;) Looking for some holes on mainly NL1000, that's where I want to be playing soon. Time to move up a bit, and hopefully with success. However, I feel pretty confident in my cash game, which is a lot less to say about my tournament play :)

anyways, since I do feel better, and I've been locked inside for 3 days or so now, I'm going to take it easy and maybe drop by some friends place to see how they are doing on the battlefield. and I think Max really wants to see me, not for me, but for the money I swapped for him to pay his bills for the upcoming month. Yep. Eventhough there is a lot of variance on the tables, there is very little in paying bills :p But before I'm going to become philosophical I'm gonna end it here.

Live games are rigged

I played in a home game 2 days ago, and it was great fun.. except that I lost :p the most insane hand was when the night was almost ended and I decided just for fun to open shove in 22, thinking maybe someone will call me with AK and we'll have a flip. But!!! this is what happened.. so I shoved 4K UTG+1 then one folded and one called, then one folded another one called.. the last player showed QQ and he said.. I can't put this down.. so it was an 4 way all in. The first guy showed AKs and the middle guy didn't show anything. So the flop goes A7J, the guy with AKs was smiling.. QQ guy was devastated.. then the next card was the miracle 2. I felt a warm feeling inside, thinking I'm going to luckbox so hard, the last card didn't matter, it was a 9 or something. Anyways.. AKs still smiled and flipped over his AKs and wanted to grab the money, but then the middle guy flipped over JJ.. my god, I felt horrible.. he hit an overset on me, in a 20K pot..

trying to squeeze something out of the night, in the last hand we straddled and restraddled the whole round, and I picked up AQo so I decided to shove my last 2K in it ofcourse, guy behind me instacalls and shows 44. Didn't get lucky so I lost my last 2K as well :( sad night.. snif.. good thing I'm running better online lol.

anyways.. I think I got some food poisening or something, I have to run to the bathroom every 15min and can't hold in any food :( bad week!

Happy birthday Jappen

Yeah it was his birthday last night, we all went out and got ourselves pretty much wasted (again). Also meet a new american poker player Rolon (Ricky) where I did 3 coinflips against, first 2 were 1000 baht each, and last one 2000 baht, won all 3 of them (yes I'm a luckbox) and managed to make it a +EV night out of it lolz..

Anyways, our french player who was supposed to catch his flight at midnight, just decided that he can't leave just yet and go back into the void, so he just cancelled everything and signed up for another 6 months of Thailand.. pretty cool move imo. nice shove Francois :D

So to celebrate this event we are all invited to his place tonight and bring our swimgear with us, since his place has a pool/jacuzzi, so I will probably go to check out his new crib.

Last night was pretty standard, cookie just made a move on this chick, Jappen got so drunk and probably ended up with some ladyboy.. I have no idea, I went home just after we had some chicken noodle soup and my quest to find a place where I could pee. (we ended up in some massage parlor at 4am where Max flashed my phonenumber to some girl who was interested in me, now I'm just hoping she doesn't have a photographic memory lol)

I had a bad run last 2 days, and stacked off 2000$ or something so I'm back running break even for this week, really incredible what kinds of suck off those damn annoying pesky shortstackers are making against me. But all in all, I think in the long run I did a good moving out, because the skill level is dramatically low and it gives me a break from the iPoker grinders for a while.

back to the cash

I'm back at the cash tables, running pretty hot at my new poker site, but today it was a total disaster, and I threw away 5 buy-ins or something like that.. makes me feel so down, I ran against like 6 sets or something and had a KK vs AA preflop all-in (which ofcourse I lost) but I don't really mind that one, that's a pretty normal thing, but just unhappy that my hard work is all gone again :p But I'm very positive that I'm going to get it up back again pretty soon.

Tomorrow is one of my danish friends birthday, so I wonder where his party will lead me, but I'm looking forward to it. I'm going also to do some active sport, trying to subscribe at some amateur soccer league and play a bit again together with my german friend. Hopefully I will be able to run more than 10min before I throw up haha.

Anyways.. I don't know what's wrong with me lately but I just keep getting hungry all the time, so I guess it's time for me to get some noodles first and then hit some bar with my friends later on tonight. Happy donkaments!

APPT Sydney

Hi guys,

I didn't know the qualifiers ended yesterday, thought I would still have a week to go.. but sadly enough this is not the case. I managed to get into step 5 like 4 times, but so unlucky, out of 45 coinflips in total, I won like 3 of them only.. talking about having a bad run :p
So there will be no APPT Sydney for me sadly enough, just going to stay here in Thailand for the main time and meet up with some other poker players, one of them is coming over from China in 2 weeks, very excited to meeting up with him, and there will be some other french pro's coming over as well.

Further plans for this month is trying to qualify for the Aussies millions, who are game in January, hopefully that will go a bit smoother.

Anyways, I went go kart racing yesterday, and I didn't do to bad for a noob I guess :) and it was fun, tiring on the hands but fun. After the racing we played Horse Poker Racing on some video game machine, and Tufat lucked out again and hit double full house and ended up with the no.1 highscore of the day and took a picture of it, maybe I'll be able to post it here later on haha.

I also tried to do a prop bet with Max on a Tekken game, since I really dominate in that game, giving him 10 to 1 even went to 20 to 1 for 1K but he chickened out on me :D
He did gave me 500 baht for eating an American BBQ burger in McDonalds, and to be honest, I really hated the taste of that burger, really.. but hey.. easy 500 baht note right? ;)

Luke, Bill (Snowbank) and Andy (Tufat) are now all on their way back home, Tufat is going to Paris soon and Vegas I've heard to play some tournaments and try to hit something. Meanwhile we await the return of Cookie and Jappen from Laos, they went to out there to get a visa, but as far as I have been updated, the trip was/is terrible :)

Nothing more to update, I'm going to get back to my cashgames to earn some doh, coz tournaments make me sick, so I'm going to leave it for the while being.

just some updates

Yo guys,

I got my ass kicked on my qualification at the 6th step of the APPT Sydney qualifier (2.100$+200$ buy-in).. 3 guys left and top 2 gets a seat.. so at that moment I had QQ, and just shoved it, the other guy thinks about it and calls with AQo and spikes a A on the river.. I was disgusted, not that it was a bad call from that other guy or something, it's just I felt that I was suppose to go, and that donk was so freaky lucky, everytime he won the coinflip.

Talking about coinflips, we went out last night and Tufat made 11 coinflips with my friend for 1000$ each, and ended up losing 3K$, but it was hilarious, anyways, he's like stuck 10K with coinflips now, guess he's not lucky :)

anyways.. I gotta get back to the qualifiers, hopefully I'll be more lucky this time.. I've been going out too much with the poker players who are staying here in Thailand.

APPT Macau = StarCraft event??

Hi guys.. seems like a StarCraft event.. lol :D

this is the final table:

Seat 1: Simon Randall, United Kingdom — 125,000
Seat 2: Liz Lieu, United States — 384,000
Seat 3: William Tam, Australia — 201,000
Seat 4: Bertrand 'Elky' Grospellier, Korea — 467,000
Seat 5: Joe Hachem, Australia — 325,000
Seat 6: Dinh Le, England — 657,000
Seat 7: Guillaume Patry, South Korea — 552,000
Seat 8: Sangkyoun Kim, South Korea — 261,000
Seat 9: Ivan Tan, Singapore — 553,000

Yes that's Elky and Grrr... two former pro StarCraft players.. don't know about that other korean guy, might be a pro too haha :)

sorry for the lack of updates.. I was too dissapointed at myself I guess, but bad luck is something you have to deal with.

Critical hands:

flop goes A96 , 2 hearts , I had pocket 6 in my hand, reraised his bet on the flop a bit, he pushes all in, thought he had a AK with a flush draw, but he flips over 99, deadly..

I was crushed in chipstack, shortstacked play.. but not very long.. I sat on the BB, against only a SB who limps in. I pushed all in with A9s and the guy has 96o, I had him dominated but he turned over a straight on the river after pre-flop allin.

You can view some party videos at the APPT site, I should congratulate Liz Lieu for making it to the final table, she was shortstacked for a while too, and I never thought she would make it.. but she did won the medium pocket pair coinflip against AK.

Going to try to qualify for the APPT in Sydney now.. wish me luck :)

My first post

Hi,

My full name is Dang Dai, most people know me by my nickname Ryu, and actually all my friends call me that way. I've created this blog, because I'm not only a poker player, I'm also manager of Silver RakeBack, one of the top rated online poker affiliates ;) So if you are still looking for a good deal, go give the site a visit or add us to your favorite IM.

Why the blog? well, because of the upcoming events ofcourse.. the APPT is on it's way and the first step is the APPT main event in Macau, which I am personally participating in :)

I just want to create this blog so all my friends can view and read all about it, like they are being part of this event. Anyways.. I'll keep you all updated every step of the way!
